Do You Qualify?
You may be eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) if you meet the program’s eligibility requirements, including:
- You are a Canadian resident with a valid health card.
- You do not have access to private dental insurance through an employer, pension, or other benefits plan.
- Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000.
- You have filed your most recent Canadian tax return.
The amount of coverage you receive depends on your household income. Eligible patients with lower household incomes may receive a higher level of coverage, while those with higher qualifying incomes may receive partial coverage.
Services Covered Under CDCP
The CDCP may help cover a variety of eligible dental services, including:
- Dental examinations and X-rays
- Preventive services such as cleanings and fluoride treatments
- Restorative treatments such as fillings
- Tooth extractions
- Dentures and certain prosthodontic services
- Other eligible dental treatments
Coverage and reimbursement amounts vary depending on the service, your coverage level, and applicable CDCP guidelines. Some services may require preauthorization.
